A beautiful, balmy Saturday night found us visiting Steff and Jim's house to see the progress of Chris and Jim's welding project. They were making a new computer desk for Chris and had worked diligently for hours designing, measuring, cutting, crafting and welding Chris' magnificent new desk.

Our arrival showed the pair hard at work...

Of course, I looked on an etiquette website before our visit and found that a proper hostess gift while visiting a welding project was something in glass in the color orange so...

who am I to fight with Emily Post. Here is Steff graciously accepting her orange welding-hostess turkey...with delight and surprise she found it had been filled with candy corn (by the way, it's the honey that gives it that distinctive taste)

As darkness fell the drama of the welding continued. It was an ethereal play of glowing sparks against velvet twilight, a confetti of brightness in the dark (Jeez...dramatic enough?)

Is that a cool picture or what? If you want to order an 8 x 10 enlargement of this, please e-mail me by clicking here now...

While the welding continued others of us entertained ourselves as we could...

but, hey, let's see that cool picture again before this story ends...

oh, oops, this is another cool picture of a flower by Steff and Jim's front door... here's the other cool picture...

THE END

take me home, please
